FedEx, one of the world's largest express delivery and transportation companies, joined forces with the China Association for the Development of Hearing Medicine and the Xi'an Disabled Persons Federation today to launch the "Assistance Action for Poor and Hearing Impaired Children" public welfare project. Li Heqi, Secretary of the Party Group of Xi'an Disabled Persons' Federation, Chen Jialiang, President of FedEx China, and Tian Chang'an, Vice Chairman of China Hearing Medicine Development Association, jointly attended the project launch ceremony held at the Second Deaf School in Xi'an.
Since 2013, FedEx has become a public welfare partner of the China Association for the Development of Hearing Medicine, donating RMB 1 million to the association to carry out a three-year public welfare project for impoverished hearing-impaired children in western China. The project aims to donate advanced hearing aids to hearing-impaired children from economically disadvantaged families, helping them recover or improve their damaged hearing with the help of assistive devices, thereby mastering social and learning abilities, and returning to normal social life as soon as possible.
The first stop of the project was chosen in Xi'an and received strong support and assistance from the Xi'an Disabled Persons Federation. With their help and organization, the project first conducted preliminary hearing tests and screening for deaf students aged 6-15 who met the donation criteria at Xi'an Second Deaf School.
